Our renovations add value to prestigious homes, including this Forest Hill four-bedroom beauty, featured in Toronto Life magazine. The homeowners added value through a top-to-bottom renovation that modernized the entire property, including a breathtaking kitchen with a marble island, a lounge with a fireplace spa-style bathrooms and transformed the basement into a bright, self-contained suite.

Vaughan Build won the Peggy Kurtin Award for EXCELLENCE IN RESTORATION from the Cabbagetown Preservation Association (CPA) for it’s workmanship on a home on Wellesley Street East, originally built in 1889. Vaughan Build was responsible for the restoration of the main elements of the exterior, which was extensive and authentic. The building was gutted to the structural framing and re-constructed inside and out.

The EXCELLENCE IN RESTORATION award recognizes efforts to maintain the historic context of Cabbagetown and celebrates great work in restoration and streetscape improvements on a home in the area.

Cedarvale, Style at Home

Vaughan Build worked with a Toronto couple to transform their master bedroom and ensuite into a serene, modern retreat using a predominantly neutral palette. The spaces, featured in Style at Home magazine, were renovated using warmth and character through thoughtful contrasts, including black-framed windows, textured grasscloth wallpaper, and oil-finished oak floors, ensuring the space felt clean but never sterile. Custom built-ins add both storage and architectural interest, while the ensuite extends the theme with coordinated dark metal accents, Carrara marble in varied shapes, and brass-finished lighting for a subtle touch of glamour. Together with the designer and Vaughan Build, the homeowners were able to achieve an inviting space that is quietly sophisticated.

From Vaughan Build’s perspective, this project reinforces the value of strategic renovation over full rebuild, thoughtful collaboration between design and construction, and a commitment to delivering homes that elevate lifestyle—not just square footage—by seamlessly blending indoor comfort with outdoor living in dense city environments.
